Classroom Rules
I hope the following rules will clarify my expectations for our class this year. Please familiarize yourself with these rules, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me.
Conduct Rules
- Treat others with utmost respect and kindness. Please keep in mind that you should treat others how you would like to be treated.
- There is no tolerance for bullying of any form of explicit language in the classroom. A student caught doing either one will automatically receive a trip to the office.
- Sharing your opinions and ideas is encouraged; however, I ask that you keep your conversations to our class related topics.
- Refer to our classroom noise level chart often to see if you are using the appropriate sound level in class. Remember, discussion voices are highly encouraged during activities, not outdoor level voices.
- Please listen and respect others when they are talking. This means not talking while others are talking.
- Cell phones are not allowed to be out during class. Please keep them in your backpack and on silent at all times. Phones that are out in class will be kept at my desk until the period is over.
- Please refer to the schools website for further conduct and policy rules.
Rules Regarding Assigned Work
- You are expected to do every assignment and turn it in on time. However, if an emergency comes up, please see me in person or email me, prior to the due date of the assignment and I will work with you. I can grant a time extension for the assignment, but if you do not contact me and do not submit an assignment, late assignments will be marked down 10% each day that they are late.
- If you have any difficulty with the assigned work, I have office hours Tuesdays/Thursdays during lunch. Please come see me if you need help!

Absent Students
If you are absent you will completely miss out on the lectures and will miss out on learning how to do the assignments. As you can see, participation and attendance is heavily weighted in the scoring rubric above. Remember to get full participation credit for the course, you will need to miss no more than 2 class periods for the whole year. You can find the assignment for the week you are absent on this site on the Calendar Page. You can also submit assignments via that page when you are absent. Touch base with a classmate or contact me ASAP to get a copy of the lecture notes.
Extra Credit Opportunities!
- Extra credit opportunities will occur throughout the year. If you do ALL extra credit assignments, you have the opportunity to earn up to 10% on your total class score. Extra credit assignments must be turned in on the due date to receive credit. This could definitely help with your overall grade, so please stay tuned for when these are due.
